Holy cow, guys. It’s been a crazy year to say the least! Since we now don’t live in the same state as either of our families and many of our friends, this blog has sort of turned into a published journal so all of our info was in one place and so we could update everyone at once. Why not put all of the 2018 updates and big life moments in one blog post too? So here we go!
January
We started the year off in Disney World {shocking, I know} with friends in the most EXTRA way possible, and we’re definitely spoiled after experiencing Club Level at the Grand Floridian for that trip! However, I’m not totally sad that I’m not currently fighting the NYE crowds at Epcot tonight like we were the night of this photo…

February
More Disney for Max’s Birthday Polynesian Staycation with Max and Jenny! A weekend of Boma, Kona, and POG Juice in a Pineapple is the only appropriate way to celebrate a birthday. Plus we got to surprise my Sullivan girls while we were there! This was also the month that John got a call about The Point Church in Pensacola, and we visited the church on our way home from Disney that weekend.
I also wrote Post the Picture Anyway in February after a mild mental breakdown over wearing that bikini at the Polynesian pool, and apparently lots of other people feel the same way because it was our most popular blog post of the year!
March
This was probably the craziest month of the year. In one month we:
- celebrated our 3 year anniversary
- spent a week in Oahu, Hawaii
- signed contracts on a house in Pensacola, Florida
- moved out of our house in Pascagoula, Mississippi
- moved to Lillian, Alabama
- I left my job at Ingalls Shipbuilding
- John became the Next Generations Pastor at The Point Church
April
We got a new nephew! Maverick Lee Tull made his appearance on April 9th, and he’s just the coolest kid. He’s basically a grown up now and trying to walk and be independent, and I’m not okay with it!
May
May brought us back to Orlando for Disney World and Universal Orlando with my family! It was MaNan’s birthday week, and we had dinner with the whole family at Ohana and then went sailing on the Grand 1 to celebrate! We left Disney World for a weekend in New Orleans with Max and Jenny for Memorial Day Weekend, and I lived on beignets and cheese for 2 days.
June
We officially bought and moved into our house! It has been a lifelong goal of mine to be a Florida resident, and Pensacola has been the best place to live! We’re still putting the finishing touches on the house {yes, 6 months later} with the new light fixtures and furniture that we got for Christmas, and I’ll do a whole post on the house when we’re done. Our Pascagoula family came over for a day-o-fun! We also visited Bradenton Beach for the first time for John to officiate his first wedding ever and marry Brandon {his best man} and Emily! Then we went back to Pascagoula for John to officiate wedding #2 for our friends Andrea and Andrew!
July
The first week of July was our first church camp with The Point Students. There aren’t many kids I’d sleep in buck beds for, but these are some of the best and we had a great camp! We ended July with a trip to Navarre for John’s mom’s birthday and a sleepover at our house with Maverick, Olivia, and Brandon. We obviously had to take him to the Naval Air Museum because, I mean, he’s Maverick.
August
It’s birthday month! John and I are exactly 7 days apart, so we usually do a trip for our birthdays. This year we celebrated in Louisiana with my family and then by becoming Florida Resident Annual Passholders at Disney World and staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge with Max and Jenny. Fun fact: John and Jenny were born on the same day, so it’s really a triple birthday week celebration now! Plus we got to hang out with Phillip and Dana this trip too!
September
Jamarrius came to visit us for Labor Day, so we went to OWA! And we didn’t intend to have every concert that we went to in 2018 be within 9 days of each other, but it happened and I wasn’t sad about it. We got to see Mat Kearney, Johnnyswim, Needtobreathe, and Taylor Swift {girl’s trip}! Having good concert locations within 30 minutes of your house is pretty spectacular.
October
Back in August, my dad turned 50 and we planned a Disney trip to celebrate! What I didn’t realize is that I had planned a trip for his boss/friend for the exact same week, and we had a blast playing in the parks with Robby and Donna! I had always wanted to be able to take my dad to Disney since he had taken me so many times, and it was great to experience the parks with just him. You can watch the video that I made here.
November
This month was a full travel month! We went to Louisiana for the LSU vs. Alabama game, Orlando for the Youth Pastor Summit One Day Conference + John’s first overnight stay at Universal Orlando {and I finally got my wand!} + a day at Disney, Pisgah, Alabama to check out our camp location for next summer, and Pascagoula for Thanksgiving with John’s family.
December
December was a family filled month! Between our trips to Louisiana and Mississippi and their trips to Florida, we spent almost half of the month together, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
2018 was one heck of a year for us, and we’re hoping 2019 will bring a few less changes, but plenty of adventures!
